Carnival of the Animals - Lion

K5 students are starting the Carnival of the Animals unit in music class.  We started by listening to "The Royal March of the Lion" by Saint-Seans.

Then we used our own lions to march are roar like the lion in the music!

Magical Ice Skates

K4 students found out that Mrs. Murn has magical ice skates!  These skates may look like paper plates, but when you stick them on your feet, they turn into ice skates!  We moved around the room using slow and smooth bodies while listening to Leroy Anderson's "Forgotten Dreams."

Folk Dance Unit

Third graders have started a new unit that is all about folk dance.  We are learning about different folk music from around the world, and how to sing, dance, and play those songs on instruments.

The first song we learned was "Rig-a-Jig Jig" from Ireland.  We learned how to sing the song, then we learned two versions of the folk dance, and we have now moved onto playing instruments!
